This print is drawn from an original painting — a work conceived in shadow, folklore, and the American tradition of things that linger after dark. Reproduced in meticulous detail on museum-quality canvas.
Framing & Finish
Each piece is printed in-house on premium canvas and available in three finishes:
Ebony — deep black frame with ornate carved detailing; the natural home for dark work
Verdigris — aged copper-green finish with antique patina; the signature Bella Frye look
Bourbon — warm walnut tone with ornate relief; candlelit and atmospheric against dark walls
All framed pieces include a gallery-wrapped canvas with hand-applied ornate corner details. Stretched canvas is available for those who prefer a frameless, gallery-style presentation.
Sizing
Available in multiple sizes to suit your wall. All pieces are printed to order in our Pacific Northwest studio.
Why This Piece
American folklore doesn't need embellishment. The Headless Horseman, the hollow, the harvest moon — these images arrived fully formed from a culture that understood darkness as part of the landscape. This painting lives in that tradition.
Absolutely beautiful, I couldn’t be happier with it. It is perfect in my home office. I will eventually get a better quality frame for it. I apologize for the glare, the photo does not do it justice!
