Rhode Island arrives in salt-bleached blues and Narragansett greys — Newport's gilded cottages, Providence's mill-stack skyline, and the wave-cut cliffs of Block Island stamped onto linen and lithograph. The smallest state sent its biggest views by mail: clam shacks, sail lofts, and the long dignified arc of the Pell Bridge before it had a name.
About the Source
Bella Frye curates American postcards from the great postcard golden age (1900s-1930s) — greetings cards, large-letter cards, real-photo postcards, and linen-finish scenic plates from publishers like Curt Teich, Detroit Publishing, and the smaller regional houses that documented every Main Street, courthouse square, and natural wonder in America. The aged paper tone and original lithographic color are preserved in the print.
Materials & Finish
Printed to order in our Pacific Northwest studio on premium 380gsm cotton canvas with archival pigment inks. Hand-finished and framed in our signature ornate frame with verdigris corner detail, available in three finishes:
- Ebony — deep black with carved ornate detailing; dramatic against light walls
- Verdigris — aged copper-green with antique patina; the signature Bella Frye look
- Bourbon — warm walnut tone with ornate relief; rich and historically grounded
Stretched canvas (frameless gallery wrap) is available for those who prefer a frameless presentation.
